TRIATHLETES AND TACHYCARDIAS – SURVIVING AN OUT OF HOSPITAL CARDIAC ARREST – Dr Jeremy Windsor and Dr Ian Quigley
Dr Jeremy Windsor – a climber, mountain medicine doctor and Consultant in Anaesthetics and Critical Care
Dr Ian Quigley – the Himalayan mountain rescue GP
Captain Iain Brooke Bennett – St John’s Ambulance Operations Manager
The talk will focus upon the wide range of medical issues that face endurance athletes and in particular, the cardiac complications that may occur.
Real life cases will be discussed in order to identify the risk factors involved, how these cardiac conditions present and importantly, how they’re treated. Don’t expect ECG’s and cardiac echo reports – rather a series of interesting stories that highlight the many problems that occur when the human body is pushed to the limits!
This meeting will be face to face in the York Medical Society rooms and also shared via Zoom.
Please confirm your preference for in person or virtual attendance and if you want to join us for supper afterwards.
Event open to York Medical Society Members and their guests only
After the meeting – two course dinner with wines £22 per head.
