

GEORGIAN FESTIVAL – GUIDED WALKING TOUR OF 18TH CENTURY YORK WITH LOCAL HISTORIAN
CHARITY EVENT IN AID OF PANCREATIC CANCER – THURSDAY 3RD TO SUNDAY 6TH AUGUST

This summer, the glorious Georgians are taking over the city of York! York is hosting it’s first Georgian Festival.
York Medical Society is taking the opportunity, in collaboration with The Three Bear’s Foundation, to welcome visitors to come and have a look around the Society’s rooms and garden.

Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th August
Society’s rooms, garden and museum of medical instruments open for visitors 10am to 3pm

Guided Tours of the building with Dr Richard Thompson at 11.00am and 12.30pm (book places by email to yorkmedicalsociety@gmail.com)

Society’s rooms, garden and museum of medical instruments open for visitors 10am to 3pm
Local historian, Mike Doss, will lead a walk on medicine and operations in the Georgian times to include where the C18 hospital stood and what happened if you had to go inside! Walk start time 11am (duration approx. 90 minutes). Meet at 23 Stonegate.
Tickets for the walk – £5 per person (places limited so please book early – book places by email to yorkmedicalsociety@gmail.com)

All proceeds from the event will go to The Three Bear’s Foundation – a York charity whose funds go to further medical research and support the families that have been affected by pancreatic cancer.
