A cricket match on the 18th of August 2023 between York and Scarborough hospital Consultants and Primary Care, supported by York Medical Society, at York Cricket Club, raised money in memory of Dr Richard Mannion. A revered and exceptional Consultant Radiologist who loved his cricket and died of MND all too soon. We hope a cure for this tragic disease is forthcoming and we send our colleagues, and those suffering with their families around the world, our thoughts and prayers.

We raised £805 and the donation has been made. Great fun and a tremendous effort and thanks for supporting. Hope those there enjoyed the night. Thanks so much for your efforts.

An amazing endeavour by all involved and as well as supporting MND, the night helped unite Secondary and Primary care as well as form friendships, in the memory of Richard.

The Pacemakers (medics) took on the Surgical Superchargers (surgeons) winning a close game
The Ultrasonics (primary care) defeated the Surgical Superchargers
The Pacemakers took the YMS cup beating the Ultrasonics in a 10 ball over game as the light faded, with 5 wickets in one over!
The Richard Mannion player of the match went to GP Anthony Butterfield for his overall play with bat and ball.
